Literature Text

Gold dust and steel meet under the skyline,
Turning and changing toward a new day,
Take me away to steely-grey water,
The edge of the water,
Where I used to play

Sea spray comes crashing in peals of white laughter,
A perfect reminder of lost yesterday
Luminous footsteps kick up the gold-dust,
The wind whips around me,
And begs me to stay

Sing me a song of tides that are constant,
Moving but always remaining the same,
Carries away forgotten sweet moments,
The steel and the gold-dust
Are wild and untamed

Cotton-white clouds raging above me
Spinning a sea-shell and tales of sea spray
My fingers are sifting the sand in the water,
Asking its memories
To take me away

If gold-dust remembers and could be reminded,
The steely wild water would whisper my name,
And I would say maybe part of me belongs here,
The beachcombing playmate,
A daughter of waves

Gold-dust and steel meet under the skyline,
Turning and changing forever to stay
And as I walk down to the edge of the water,
The memories whisper
And take me away

What a fun read. I like the constant flow of the words, almost like waves carrying me back to childhood visits to the beach.
